English: We're handing you our home for a while – and it's a rather special one. Our end-of-terrace house sits in one of Cologne's only car-free settlements, in the increasingly green neighbourhood of Poll, right by the Rhine. No cars drive through here. Children cycle, neighbours chat, and by evening it's so quiet you almost forget you're in a city. The house is spacious and light-filled: four bedrooms offer plenty of room for families, friends, or anyone who simply needs space to breathe. On the ground floor, the living room opens through large patio doors onto the garden – morning coffee in the sun, evening films on the projector in front of the wood-burning stove. Both work wonderfully. What means most to us about this neighbourhood is the community. Neighbours who know each other and say hello. Children playing outside without anyone having to worry. That feels like a rare privilege these days – and you get to be part of it for a while. Poll sits right on the Rhine – running and cycling along the water is simply part of life here. The Südstadt, Deutz and the city centre are all easily reachable by bike or public transport. Cafés, bakeries and a weekly market are within walking distance. For children, there are playgrounds and a freedom to roam right on the doorstep. For families who want to truly experience Cologne – not from a hotel room, but from a real home. Hier fahren keine Autos. Kinder radeln, Nachbarn plaudern, und abends ist es so still, dass man die Stadt fast vergisst. Das Haus ist geräumig und hell: vier Schlafzimmer bieten Platz für Familie, Freunde oder alle, die einfach Raum zum Durchatmen brauchen. Im Erdgeschoss öffnet sich das Wohnzimmer über eine große Terrassentür auf den Garten – morgens Kaffee in der Sonne, abends Film auf dem Beamer vor dem Kaminofen. Beides geht wunderbar.
