Schwanthalerhöhe, Munich's Westend, is located on the western edge of the city center on the Isar low terrace, bordered by the Hauptbahnhof–Pasing and Hauptbahnhof–Ostbahnhof railway lines. The eastern part of the district (Theresienhöhe), close to the city center and slightly sloping, forms a transition to the Bahnhofsviertel, and to the south of it, above the Theresienwiese, lies the former exhibition center.
