The Schwanthalerhöhe, Munich's Westend, is located on the western edge of the city center on the Isarniederterrasse, bordered by the Hauptbahnhof–Pasing and Hauptbahnhof–Ostbahnhof railway lines. The slightly sloping eastern part of the district (Theresienhöhe), close to the city center, forms a transition to the train station district; south of it, above Theresienwiese, is the former exhibition center.
