1 room apartment of 32 m² in Stuttgart

i’m looking for an individual to join me in my beautiful, sun-filled apartment on the edge of the forest. if you’re looking for a peaceful oasis, you’ll feel right at home! the room is available from march 1, 2025 until the end of the year. the closest u-bahn station is wolfbusch, about a 12-minute walk away. two stations down the line, or about a 25-minute walk, is weilimdorf’s löwenmarkt, where you can find a wide range of shopping options (rewe, lidl, dm, deutsche post, restaurants, bakeries, clothing stores, etc.). if you drive, there’s free street parking and it’s easy to find a spot nearby. the apartment is on the top floor of the building (don’t worry, that’s only two flights of stairs up!), so it’s nice and quiet. directly behind the building is a huge forest with countless recreational paths to explore. you can walk all the way to the bärensee or schloss solitude through the forest! your room is spacious and bright. it’s fully furnished with a bed, bedside table, lamps, dresser, clothing rack, laundry hamper, sofa, armchair, and coffee table. i can also offer you a desk, chair, mirror, and curtains if you’d like. i have quite a few houseplants, so if you’d like a bit of greenery indoors, i can also give you one or two to adopt! the apartment was renovated 15 years ago, including a completely new bathroom and kitchen. i’ve added a filtered shower head on the shower to soften the water. all the windows have electric outdoor shutters. i’ve also added screens so the insects stay outdoors! the kitchen is huge and fully equipped with all major appliances and several small ones. you’re welcome to share my dishes, pans, and so on. i am active in the foodsharing community, so you can also count on getting some free food on a regular basis if you’re interested. there is a small balcony off the kitchen for drying clothes, and i have a washer in the basement you can use. there is also attic space for storage or hanging clothes to dry. i have high-speed cable internet and green electricity and gas. the building has a regular cleaning service and winterdienst, so there’s no need to worry about a duty rota (kehrwoche)! i hire a cleaner to do a deep cleaning of the bathroom and kitchen every 4-6 weeks, so we just need to keep things reasonably clean in between. rent including utilities and nebenkosten: 630 euro per month security deposit: 1500 euro total living area (your room plus shared spaces): 36.23 m² private room: 16.53 m² i’m a 37-year-old woman originally from long island, new york. i have been in germany for 8 years and plan to stay here permanently. i used to be a dance instructor and still enjoy dancing socially. these days i am an english teacher, editor, and curriculum designer. i mostly work from home, so it should be easy to handle taking turns in the bathroom in the mornings. i am environmentally conscious and primarily vegetarian, although sometimes i eat dishes with meat rescued from foodsharing. otherwise at home i have a meat-free kitchen. i have a few serious allergies, so it’s important that there are no nuts or peanuts in the apartment. i also need a completely smoke-free home, so i’m looking for someone who doesn’t smoke at all, even socially. i have spent years in shared homes with all kinds of different people. i have learned the importance of open communication. it’s normal that we’ll sometimes get on each other’s nerves – let’s talk about it and find solutions that work! i have a busy social calendar while also very much enjoying my peaceful time alone at home, so i am not going to be up for hanging out much, but i would like to find someone who enjoys a friendly cup of tea or occasional joint shopping expedition (schedules permitting). if you’ve made it this far and feel like this might be a good fit, send me a message! besides english i speak german, french, and a fair amount of spanish. i can offer a phone call or online visit before we do an in-person viewing.
