LOCATION Within 3 to 5 min walking distance, you can be • shopping in the supermarkets Edeka, Aldi, Lidl and Netto, • taking the tube U5 or the trams (M4, M5, M6, M8), • enjoying a walk, a jogging or a beach volleyball game in the beautiful Volkspark, • watching a film in the Kino International or • attending to a theatre play at the Kriminal Theater on Palisadenstrasse 48 Alexanderplatz is 10-13 min away by foot, 5 min by bicycle. You can be in the airport in 50 min by car or 1.5 hour by tube/train QUIETNESS IN THE CITY CENTRE The large buildings along the main avenues act as barriers to the noise from the traffic. The apartment is surrounded by green land, there is no road to the front nor back, only sidewalks. The house is very quiet, I never had problems with noise or parties. MATERIALS The apartment is very well insulated, I almost always have the heating off in winter and it's still 22 degrees inside. No acrylic floors, no laminate, no harmful bitumen under carpets, no fitted carpets. The floors are either tiled or full oak parquet. The oiled oak floor in the study & guest, bedroom and living &dining room gives it a serene, relaxing feel. No wallpaper hiding PVC (polyvinylchloride), toxins, lead and chemicals, no fiberglass paper that release micro particles. The walls are plastered and painted with lime-based paint. The furniture is made of as much full wood as was possible. LIGHT AND LIGHTING The natural light coming from the reflection of the South-facing windows into the large mirrors that adorn your home create the impression of an extended space. We all sometimes wish the days to be brighter, or the room atmosphere to be glowing softly, or a light with which we can sit and read comfortably. The apartment offers it all: Direct, indirect ceiling light, wall lamps and standing lamps. We sometimes want full darkness. Just drop the shades and close the thick velvet curtains. PLANTS The plants are quiet friendly co-inhabitants. They improve your air quality, bring a quiet life into your home. Please water them once every 2 weeks. CORRIDOR The floor in the corridor, the kitchen and the bathroom is tiled. All walls in the apartment are plastered and painted with lime paint that allows the walls to breathe. A coat hanger at the entrance contains a few necessities. The cupboard in the corridor contains extra pillows and duvets, a new vacuum cleaner, cleaning agents, cleaning materials, a plunger, a broom etc, a new iron, mineral water for the iron, a shoe rack, tools, an emergency kit, a sewing kit, a fire extinguisher, a fireproof blanket, umbrellas and more, leaving also plenty of free storage space. On a key holder you will also find the key to the bicycle lock. BATHROOM We all enjoy a relaxing bath from time to time. In the cupboard of the corridor you will find a small pack of bath salts. In the little cupboard in the bathroom there is soap, WC paper and decoration items, in the unit below the sink, small towels and cloth to clean the tabs. KITCHEN The kitchen is fully equipped and operational. It also has a new washing machine and a new dryer as well as other appliances such as a microwave, a coffee maker, a kettle, a toaster, a rice cooker, a robot mixer/shaker and a citrus presser. You will find all you need for easy or gourmet cooking: utensils, cooking ware, drinking ware, cutlery, even a cake carrier, and silverware to serve tarts with. The knives in the knife block have been sharpened. In the living room you will find more china, ample crystal glasses, table naps and more. If you enjoy cooking and serving beautiful dishes, you are at home. Go for it. You will find these hand-painted and signed dishes in the commode in the living room. LIVING AND DINING ROOM The sofa, relaxing chair and its footrest, and the four chair make your home a place that can receive friends. You can easily put the aperitif table that is along the wall to the front of the sofa. The dining table extends to accommodate 4-8 people. The commodes accommodating crystal ware for any type of drink, the porcelain tableware, hand-made pottery for serving beautiful meals, table cloths and more. And when you want to enjoy a film online in the evening, connect your PC to the screen and just relax on the sofa. The top of the small table can also be used as a tray. OFFICE & GUEST ROOM The home-office / study room is also a guest room. The natural beauty of the oiled oak floor, shelves and desk creates a welcoming environment. Behind the pull-down guest bed, there is an additional mattress, feel free to use it. And if you still need another mattress, call me, there is one more. The modem for internet is behind the curtain. It has a switch on/off button. BEDROOM You have a generous double bed with 2 separate bed bases of 90x200 each. All mattresses in the apartment have a protection on them. Below the throw, the bed is awaiting you with clean sheets and pillow cases. The bedside tables, the secretaire and the main cupboard offer you plenty of space for your belongings. The cupboard on the right contains bathroom towels, sheets, blankets, and kitchen towels. BICYCLE You might want to use a bicycle for a quick shopping, or a relaxing ride. It is in the common basement. It rides well. Its lights do not function. To avoid fines, avoid using it after dusk, or get yourself front and back battery-powered lamps. The key to the lock is in the cupboard in the corridor. Always lock it. ENJOY LIFE!
