Connections are via Himmelreich train station (10 minutes on foot or 3 minutes by bicycle). From there, a train departs every 30 minutes to Freiburg main train station (travel time 14 minutes). The total travel time including walking/cycling path and train is approximately 17–24 minutes. The trains are reliable and included in the Deutschlandticket. Additionally, trains depart every 30 minutes to the Upper Black Forest (., 12 minutes to Hinterzarten at 893 m altitude). Hiking trails into the Black Forest begin only about a 10-minute walk from the house. Freiburg can be easily reached by car via the B31 (approx. 15 minutes to the main train station). Surroundings Kindergarten (1 minute walk) and primary school (3 minutes walk) are within walking distance. Secondary schools in Kirchzarten can be reached in about 7 minutes by bicycle. In Burg-Birkenhof there is a bakery with a café, a small grocery store, a café, a dry cleaner, a hairdresser, and a post office and stationery shop – all reachable in about 3 minutes on foot. Doctor, dentist, and physiotherapy are also located in the same building complex.
